Blue Collar Talent Scouts (BCTS) was the product of Dan’s and Wood’s recognition that all too often the skilled trades benefit either the contractor or the technician at the expense of the other. They set out to help change that dynamic and make it mutually beneficial for both. The contractor and the technician each love the trades but face challenges in recruiting and job placement. We focus on helping both meet to develop mutually beneficial relations and partnerships.
Blue Collar Talent Scouts kicked off with the goal of helping improve recruiting and retention by focusing on ways the Trades Person and the Contractor can work as a stronger team. It’s our conviction that there is honor in practicing a trade that everyone needs, trades which benefit us all daily and are overlooked by many. And these trades can’t be replaced or outsourced in our lifetimes.

Dan Baker has worked in sales and recruiting for over seventeen years heavily focused on assisting MEP contractors in three key areas. Skilled Trades Recruiting, Proper Pricing of Products and Services to aid in solid business growth and, more recently, developing expertise in Field Service and Operations Management software that provide a complete solution for small-to-medium-sized contractors to run their business.
Dan’s a veteran of the US Navy.
Wood Boyles has worked in HR for over twenty-two years, including seventeen years in the MEP industries. With a background that includes Training & Development, Recruiting, Employee Relations and Management Coaching while working for one of the largest contractors within the space.
Wood is a licensed attorney (inactive) in California and has identified key practices to help your business stay out of legal issues.
